Royal Blue + Peplum

Hello everyone ! How are you? I hope that you are having a good day so far. I have a question for you. Would you wear a peplum dress, a peplum skirt or a top? You probably already have. I ordered the dress awhile back but just didn't get a chance to wear it yet. I cannot tell you just how much I love these dress. Plus no alterations, what's not to love? My son said to take a picture with and without the pearl necklace because it looks better. I think my 6 year old is right. I like the look without the pearl necklace. Do you think so? Do you have a clothing budget?

I never had a clothing budget before and now I been noticing lately that my clothing and shoes purchases are not what is used to be. It is not less but more spending. So I decided to help out my husband and challenge myself to start a clothing budget each month. When we first got married, he set aside a clothing budget for me. I never followed it to tell you the truth.  I always went overbudget. I guess all these years of being married he never asked anymore why I don't follow it. He just got so used to it(lucky me!)

The Little Black Dress

Hello everyone ! Happy Monday. I have a few LDB's(little black dress) and this is my new favorite. It's a tunic but works as a dress for me. The beauty of the LBD is you can accesorize and wear it a million ways, it's like a blank canvas. As I am writing these post, an idea just pop in my head ! I would wear this dress again with my favorite leopard print scarf. How chic is that? If any thing else fails, the LBD never disappoint. It is always in style, timeless and season less favorites for parties all year around. Do you have a particular favorite? How long have you have it and did it ever disappoint? Please share your thoughts. On the other note : I was riding in car with boys today. Husband took me and our son to his old college campus grounds and see how it has changed a lot since the last time he went there. We snap photos, walk around and feed some turtles and ducks. Tangerine + Stripes

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a fun Wednesday ! I know, I know it's stripes again and didn't even realized until I got dressed this morning. Oh no !  But how can you say no to a cute skirt like these one I found at Forever 21. It is lined, good quality than most F21 clothes you buy and the colors just say "happy, bright, cheery and stripes". If you haven't notice it yet, I have an affinity with the print stripes ! So summer, so nautical ! The colors are vibrant and I love the pleatings and need I say more why she came home with me? My button up blouse has a lovely tangerine color(a cross between red and orange). When I found her it was love at first sight. Makes me want to eat some sweet and juicy Tangelos(my son called them baby oranges).On days that you are not feeling good,  put on some bright colored clothes and it will definitely affect your mood or at least most of the time. Most people don't understand the impact color has on our physical body and on our emotional states. This happens wherever we are at home, school, workplaces and health care facilities. Why do you think when you walk into any kindergarten room and most likely you'll notice a lot of bright colors on the walls. These colors stimulate brain functioning and make learning more fun. What am saying is that color does really affects our moods and other people around you. Try it, I dare you !! I know that I can get a lot of wear from these skirt. I can pair it with different tops by taking color inspiration from the skirts 3 different colors(Orange, Blue and White). The good thing is I have all those color tops/blouses on my closet right now. It means I don't have to buy anymore. Score ! Which is what I did today. If you have to ask me between the top and bottom, which one is the lead role and which one is the supporting, I would say it depends how you look at it. I think the outfit work together. I wore this outfit to work today and got lots of compliments. Are you Team Bright Color or Team Neutral/Nude?  For starters, let me tell you a bit of trivia about me. I am a shoe fanatic and a shoe addict at the same time. Which is a deadly combo is you ask my husband. If there is such thing as a shoe addict rehab or a 12 step program to overcome the shoe addiction, I am most certainly sure that my dear husband would have driven me to the nearest facility. He even jokes that him and the Fedex and UPS guys are on first name basis by now and everytime there is a delivery in a box, he always assumes it's another pair of shoes. He loves me anyhow so he just accepts me for who I am, ha ha. Anyway, here's another fabulous petite finds. I spotted this patent leather Miu Miu bow detail mary janes platform and completely fell in love with her. I would like to take her home with me but the price range is not within my budget for right now. Maybe in the future I will have the guts to pull the trigger with my eyes close and just give in. Like the saying goes, no guts no glory ! The good news for you is that I found a look alike in a much cheaper price range alternative. If you are a girl on the budget, the Madeline is definitely a keeper. It is definitely easy on the wallet but not lacking on style. She is as pretty as the coveted Miu Miu's. But for now all I can do is wish and hope and wish and hope for Miu Miu's...On last note, the comments on this post are all based on my personal opinions. Shorts + Anchor Buttons

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday. I hope that each and every one of you enjoyed the long weekend that we just had. Our's was pretty good since we got to spend time with family. I cannot get enough of stripes.   I found this stripe knit shorts with gold anchor buttons. I think it is just adorable and comfortable to wear which is perfect for our hot and humid summer here in the South. I think I can get a lot of wear with these knit shorts.

Splurge or a Steal?

I been coveting these Equipment silk blouse for sometime. Why? I don't have one yet in my closet and I been liking stripes lately. Also these print is not just trendy, it is always on trend which is a good thing. What makes it different from the cheaper ones, well made ! However, I am a day late and a dollar short, the popular blouse was sold out now ! It went on sale from $209 to $83.60. Just my luck.  Last night I found the duplicate from F21.

Flower Power

 Hello everyone. I am going to enjoy my long weekend with family. Our first time to observed   Memorial day in our new house. My in laws are coming over and I am just as happy to see them.       Floral prints are trending right now. I gotta try and see if fabulous petite can rock it.  My fashion style is evolving and this is my take on these seasons trend. The print is bold and the yellow is loud so I choose a black jacket to tone down the rest of the look.

Camel Suade

I  been coveting this Brian Atwood maniac pumps for sometime now. But his price are way over my pocketbook budget. Unless Santa will bring my early Christmas present this year {wink, wink}. I was perusing this website 6pm.com{thanks Aisha, for telling about this website} and found the exact look alike of the BA maniac pumps. It is the Kelsey Dagger Linzy. It was on sale from $120 to $48. That is a steal ! Enough reason for me to stop contemplating. I did not order right away, kept it on my cart for few more days because I just ordered a pair from Nordstrom 2 weeks ago and just keep telling myself like I always do, if for a few days the shoes is still there, my size is still available then she is mine ! Couple of days have passed by and after contemplating too much, i decided to pull the trigger. I checked back with 6pm and her sale price went up from from $48 to $60. I called their customer service and told them why went up on price. He put me on hold and told me good news, I can honor the previous sale price said the representative and gave me the $48 instead. The deal just gotten sweeter ! I ordered Linzy and was so anxious to receive my new baby girl.

Yesterday I got her and was so excited to open the box. The feeling was like christmas day ! Too much anticipation just to get disappointed... I tried her on. Walk around the house and from such a shoe fanatic myself, I can tell that she and I are not going to get along. The fit and the construction was just not right. It feels uncomfortable right away. The camel color look faded. I know that if I just suck it up and keep the shoes because of the price I will not get more used of her. She will sit in my closet and never be worn but once. What a waste !

My verdict? She is going back ! She had me at hello but that is not enough to keep her... It could have been another success buy for me if I don't have to return her. Also it doesn't hurt sometimes to ask for discount, price adjustments etc etc because you woudn't know , you can score a great deal just by asking. Any penny save =  more money to spend on something else. Now on to my next adventure..... Get the real one? What do you think? Are you willing to spend much on designer shoes? Hot Pink

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good day ! Did it ever happen to you that you are staring at clothes in your closet and mumbling... Your mind just says, I don't have anything to wear and decide fast because you don't want to be late for work and you don't want your son to miss his school bus. I am usually good at this task. I would choose clothes I want to wear the night before so i will not have to deal with this dilemna in the morning. But for some reason, I don't feel like doing it and convice myself I can do it quick in the morning.
So i stare, stare and stare.Pull some clothes, try it on and it just don't look right or good. Today is just those days that putting an outfit is just frustrating.

So this is what I came up with ! I am lucky that our dress code at work is business casual. But I am not quite satisfied. I want some pop of color. Why not wear some hot pink suade shoes ! My barbie shoes.  nDon't be fooled by the heel height, she is very comfortable. The outfit of the day works for me and I made it on time for work, made my son's breakfast, comb his hair, tie his shoes, told him to brush his teeth and was able to check on "Spartacus"(my son's pet rabbit) ! Whew that was a mouthful !!

However, we miss the school bus.

Road less travelled

What a gorgeous Sunday ! Husband, me and son headed to another county not too far from Atlanta to go look for some bunnies. I don't know what had gotten into my 6 year old son and all of a sudden he's been asking us for a bunny. As we are are heading home we passed by these tracks and told my husband that I want my pictures taken in the tracks. It seems like a good spot and a perfect day for some blog photos. He looked around the tracks, it slopes on both sides and with lots of rocks and asked? Can you walked with those shoes? My quick reply,  I walked with my heels on before I am even born...

An Introduction

Hello World !

For this very first entry I would like to welcome everyone to the diary of my personal style. This is my place to share my thoughts with fashion and style with like minded people. Also if my blog name is not a give away, I am very petite. Therefore finding clothes that actually fits perfectly with less or no alteration is always been a challenged for me. Fashion is always evolving and so as my style(i think so). This is my journey about exploring fashion the way I see it.

Who says you cannot wear two prints at the same time? Stripes and polka dots will worked if you tone it down with a simple pair of blue jeans and a nude/taupe color shoes. For these outfit, I want the prints to stand out and the rest of my outfit as the supporting role. What do you think? If you have any tips, suggestions or anything you want to share, please by all means .
