Keep Me Warm

Hello everyone. Happy Monday. We had a busy but fun weekend. It is harder to go shopping when the people you want to shop for is with you. I really need to be focus this week and doesn't get sidetracked. My problem is instead of shopping for other people, I always ended up picking stuff for me. My husband said if I keep on buying for myself then Santa will run out of ideas of what to get me. How was your weekend? Are you done shopping, still shopping or opted to stay in and keep yourselves warm....
What keeps you warm lately? I have my trusty faux fur to keep me warm on those cold winter days. It's wonderful how a simple coat like this can take a simple tee and semi ripped jeans  to a different level. Although I got a lot of teased and side comments from my funny 7 year old son and the mister, I still wear it with style and promised them both to wear it often until they stop teasing me about it. To the little man and the big man at home - don't mess with the messer !!!! The truth is she keeps me warm and that is all that matters.
May you all have a fabulous week ahead and thank you so much for all your sweet thoughts. YOU are a rockstar !

Fifty Shades Of Red

Happy happy Monday to all of you and did you know that it is only 22 more days till Christmas(heard it this morning from my 7 year old). As I have mentioned in my previous post that part of my task during weekend will be to work on sending holiday cards. Well we are so busy over the weekend and did not even get this task done. The good thing is we got our christmas tree up and the rest of the decorations in and outside the house.  Just nothing beats the sweet smell of the holidays from a fresh cut tree ! Agree, no? Well speaking of sending cards and gifts.... EShakti were nice to send me this dress to try. When they contacted me and told me about their company and what they do, I am curious and interested right away. As you all may not know, the company is an online store that customize to fit your size and look at your best. Customization can be very expensive at times but with EShakti they make it very affordable for every one's budget. As a petite gal, most of my clothes needed an alteration and it can be costly. The beauty of customization is that it addresses all my body measurements. Fit and quality also are very important to me. The dress fits me like a glove. I love the color a lot and the quality of material they used. As I have a pet peeve about lose threads on my clothing(good sign of poor quality). I did not see any as I inspect it well, promise ! I also tried wearing it as a skirt and I actually like how it looks and will post some pictures later on. If you never tried clothing that are customize to your own measurements yet, I suggest to give it a try !

I thought that it will be fun to wear all different shades of red for this post ! The car was my husband's idea but I was pre warned please to be careful not to make any scratch or dents.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope your week is of to a fabulous start...

Superhero In Me

I cannot fly, fight crimes and the bad guys, saved the world(hey we recycle, help the needy does this count,no?) or possesed super powers but in our household there is a superhero in me or so I think. Sometimes I wonder how I do all the things I do on a day to day basis. Multi tasking maybe? Have a fulltime job, cook, clean, workout, non stop providing answers to all of my son's questions or listening to all his "did you know that"...  and still manage to blog. My routine is the same until the mister is home again from his work trip. The loads gets better and lighter. I can finally take off my cape and enjoy some me time. A glass of merlot or a chardonnay perhaps !
I refuse to get help no matter how many times the mister suggested the idea of having someone come to our house and clean. I am a bit OCD(obsessive compulsive behavior) when it comes to cleaning and organizing stuff around the house so the idea is a big NO to me. My husband said that why I torture myself and yet we can get help. The offer is thoughtful and sweet and most days very tempting to accept it.
Me as a superhero(or so I think) is nothing compared to the real super out there who risk their lives and make real sacrifices everyday to make our world comfortable and a safe place to lived. My heart goes out to you and your family and thank you for everything you do.

Enjoy the rest of the day and I hope you are off to a great start.

Color me berry or color me red

Happy Monday everyone. I am feeling good today for a Monday, work day. I think it is more of the holiday spirit just looming around and all the shopping for the holidays that I cannot wait to begin and gets me more excited just to think about it. It is going to be a short work week for moi since I am taking a few days off from work to spend time with family and friends and do some cooking. Since I am talking about the holidays, I decided to start this great week with some festive color ! Berry or red or whatever you may want to call it. The color of happiness, love, fire and of course holidays ! I had this dress for sometime now and never get the chance to wear it. It fits true to size and luckily only a minor hemming is all I need to do.  The fabric has some interesting textures and no shine which I really like.  My pictures didn't do much justice but these days taking pictures are bit tricky for it gets darker quicker.

What makes you excited and happy lately?

I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving... Gobble, gooble....

Baroque And Blues

Happy Tuesday lovelies. How was your weekend? Oh boy,  I really enjoyed my three day weekend. We went out of town to see the in laws. This are one of those spur of the moments trips we been doing lately. No make ahead plans and it is more like ok let us packed tonight and leave tomorrow kinda thing. And how crazy it is that in merely a week it is Thanksgiving again !!!! On a much related note I found this dress last week and the Baroque print draws my attention right away. It is a print that mixes different prints, such as animal print, floral, chain, rope print – all intertwined and is still continue to be a trend for Fall 2012. But most of all I love that this dress does not require any alteration and the dress is fully lined. The material is of good quality and the prints and colors are more vibrant if you see the actual dress.

I hope you all a great week ahead and enjoy the rest of the day !

Game Day

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? Our's turn out pretty good. The weather was perfect to spend the day watching a football game and had an awesome time.  I am delighted that I still get to wear shorts around here. It was cold during the week but the weather cooperate for us football fans to enjoy watching the game without freezing to death. The other team got slaugthered bad by the DAWGS so the mister was pretty happy about it.What about you? Anything fun you did over the weekend?
