My Day

Thank you so much for all the lovely wishes and greetings. It makes my heart melt reading comments from bloggers that I have not even met. I have a very simply birthday this year. It started with a sweet greetings from my husband like these " Happy birthday old lady". He jokes about it every year that  never bothers me anyway. Age is just a number ! I just tell him that in case he's forgetting something, he's 7 years older than me.
He took me shopping and had a delicious lunch. As I get older and more wiser, I prefer low key and simple things in life. Birthday cards, cake, great lunch, shopping and a day well spent with the man who I know has my back for all times.
Have a fabulous weekend and Easter fun to all of you.

Rasushi bar never disappoints.

Today

Happy Birthday to my Fabulous Wife, The Fabulous Petite blogger and fashion lover. I have hijacked her blog just this once, so to wish her a Happy Birthday.  A woman never tells her age, so I won't divulge.  Safe to say, she still looks gorgeous from the day I met her, hasn't changed and really seems to be aging in reverse.  From radiating sunshine with a sincere heart and to giving of herself to those around her and a concern for others, while at the same time looking fashionable without an air of pretense but a love and knowledge of fashion and just having fun.   I want the world to know she's also a great mother to a 7 year old little boy who adores her.     She teaches him about life and what's good, and instilling values that will carry him into adulthood as a good man.   Love you always.  Keep doing what you do, and have fun for another....??...how many years? I won't  divulge!!

Color Blocking

I received once again another dress by Eshakti. Since the brand offers customization in all their pieces,  this dress fits like a glove. My favorite feature is the pockets which is one of their many custom features. Who doesn't want pockets with their dress anyway? Even though they offer custom features services, their prices are still affordable and the quality of this dress is great. What else is new with Eshakti,  now they offer a 0-36W(of course custom sizes and styles). The Spring has sprung and here's looking forward to the sunny days ahead with Eshakti.  If in case you want to see my first dress with Eshakti, click here.
Thank you so much for all your sweet thoughts from my last post.
Have a great Monday!

Waiting For Spring

The spring has sprung somewhere but here in Atlanta we still get a little leftover of winter days. It starts off with a cold mornings and super windy day and then an increase in temperature to about  mid 60's and then towards the afternoon the temp drops again to low 30's. It's the south so we get cold too easily here. Today is no ordinary day. I been wanting to put away those bulky winter staples and boots but the weather seems to just can't decide it's mind yet. Ok I will let the nature takes it's own course but for the meantime I really feel like wearing the super versatile chambray, faux leather pants and fur vest with some nice tall boots and maybe for the last time because next weeks our days will be all springlike and some of these few pieces can go on hibernation. These pieces are super easy with a punch of attitude to start whatever business I have for the day.

Thank you so much for reading. Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
 Stay stylish........

Unlikely

If we tend to wear polka dots against stripes and prints against other prints then why not wear a beautiful dress such as this one and take photos to such an unlikely location. The softness, satin texture and ultra feminine against the roughness, untamed and the wild. The juxtaposition between the location and my dress is my favorite about today's post. It is unlikely, of course !
And with regards to my last picture, my husband dared me to do it. We got lots of stares from cars passing by but just like what my husband said "if Kate Upton can do it on extreme conditions and location, this is just a piece of cake" !
A few months ago on online seller specializing in prom, evening and wedding dresses and wedding accessories, Msdressy contacted me about collaborating with them. This petite friendly beautiful dress was the first one that they send me. I love how my dress was customized to my petite frame and to my surprised it is very well made(no lose threads, a big pet peeve of mine) and the material used was of good quality.  My contact answered all my queries and concerns right away.  All in all the experience was awesome.

Thank you so much for reading and for your time. I hope you have a fabulous day.

Insta Life

Last weekend was pretty busy for me, for us.  We are out the door at 8:00 a.m. I am not a morning person so getting up in the morning is always not fun for me. But my little guy is playing ball. Of course, I will never trade more zzzzzzz with the memories we created. Then after all the motherly duties are fulfilled, I am off to a fun day of fashion, champagne and shopping via the Kay Unger New York experience. Besides, I am a mother first before I become a small time fashion blogger.
It was a super cold and windy day but this kids seem not to mind. I underestimate the weather and did not bundle enough. I was freezing if you may ask.

Life can be busy, schedules can be hectic but at the end of the day i'd like to slow it down and breath and enjoy the company who matters the most.

Happy weekend everyone......... Stay stylish !

The Kay Unger Experience

Remember I mention that I was invited over to see for myself the Kay Unger New York and Phoebe couture Spring 2013 collection at Neiman's? It was a fun experience especially meeting their evening wear head designer Christy Carlisle Smith.
Christy is so sweet and nice, a true southern girl at heart being from Alabama and now living in New York and work for Kay Unger design house for 9 years. She took time before the presentation to give me a tour about the latest collection and explain all the process in designing and hard work that involves  creating the lovely pieces shown.
This is one of the dress that caught my eye. My picture does not even do justice of how the dress was nicely made and the fabric, silhoutte and prints are gorgeous in person. It has a vintage vibe but with a modern twist.
Her dresses are totally wearable and can easily be incorporated in anyone's wardrobe. The great thing is  learning their attention to details and fit. Being petite that is very important. Kudos to Christy for thinking about us petites being petite herself. They take into account that not all women have the same body type. They design different silhouettes that are flattering on all figure. A special attention to enhance the most flattering part of one's body. Hence this dresses are slimming and definitely figure flattering. The pleats are placed to enhance a waist and hide the bulges. If you are a fan of polka dots you will like this piece. I like how the dots starts small and gets bigger at the bottom.
See the lace details? Sexy but still appropriate for work and the color is tomato red, just gorgeous in person.

This is one of my favorite from the line. As Christy have mention that they work hard with their textile development. Spending a lot of time to create beautiful and one of kind techniques and prints.

Longer version of the dress. I love the ombre effect. The print is original to kay Unger and you will not see it anywhere else.
The Phoebe Couture offers a more youthful vibe with an edgier twist. Spring 2013 selections are vibrant and colorful.
Look at the detailing on this shift dress, it is pretty in person.

A special thanks to Christina Solermo, PR manager of the brand for the invite and Christly Carlisle Smith for the warm welcome that day. This ladies are truly nice..........
Lastly the attendees were treated to champagne and small bites all throughout the presentation and some sweet treats as a nice touch to end the day of fun at Neiman's and the Kay Unger experienced !

Thank you so much for reading.........
