School girl

Hello everyone. How was your week so far? One more days till the weekend so I know that you can do it & survive this week's rut :). It was cold enough for me to wear this coat that I got on sale last year from Zara. Whenever they have sale, it becomes the death of me. They have trendy and nicely made pieces so whenever Zara marks down their prices, I take advantage. As for today's outfit, I wore this the other day and did not noticed until I check myself out in the mirror before we go. Hey self, channeling that inner school girl within you today? Yes, kind of ! Well sorta but minus the pony tails and the plaid. Ok, maybe no- not really..... I am just too cold and wearing the OTK boots instead of these knee highs is not flattering and dwarfs me(i think). And when you are not blessed with a super model height to boast then anything that will remotely make me look even shorter is a no go.
Sorry, it's that short people syndrome.....:)
However, I will still like to wear them OTK boots one day....
Stay warm and safe.
Thank you from the heart.
xoxo

The brits

My, my, my.... The last time I checked we are not british. The last time I checked we most certainly not pirates and therefore I don't speak pirate. But my son start talking to me his own version of british accent. He's funny and it doesn't surprise me a bit but I still can't keep a straight face. I have to go to the other room and laugh so he doesn't see me. He even practice reciting his poem at home with a british accent. He's serious about it and I don't want to hurt his feelings. I just let him. It is so amazing how we see ourselves in our children. I see myself in my son in many ways. Like him being funny, intuitive, full of life, too opinionated and talkative. He's extremely closed to both me and his dad but there are things that he's a lot more comfortable doing just in front of me. I asked him why? He says, because dad is always serious(true). I am most silly with my son than my husband but I can be tough and means business when there is a need for it.
Then the other day, I chaperone my son's class field trip. A classmate of his came up to me and asks, Dylan's mom are you british? Ha, ha ha, I am not. Dylan says you are :).
Also if not speaking in a british or pirate accents cracks me up every now and then, once in a while my son will call me Mama Gertrude.... Not sure but your guess is as good as mine.
Now let's talk about outfit....
As I am showing a new found likeness for shades of gray, I also rekindle my old love for olive and turtle neck sweaters. This skirt's true color is olive green and it didn't show much on my pictures(sigh).
Thank you from the heart.

Finally it's Fall

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. It was Fall like weather yesterday and I did not hesitate for a minute to wear a new favorite cashmere sweater. Funny how I say "fall like weather" when indeed it is really fall but not until yesterday that he did get to experience chillier temperature comparable to high 80's in the last few weeks. I been into turtle necks style sweater lately and when I saw this at the store, I just fell in love. I got them in regular instead of my normal petite size because I want it to hang looser and a tad longer. For style and for hiding my food belly when I eat too much :). On a much taller person, the sweater could have been just below your hip bone. The length, higher slit on both sides as well as the front pockets are great fresh takes and modernize an old classic style. As I recall telling you guys that I do not like gray color that much, well I have a change of heart. I am into grays shopping and hunting lately.
I hope you have a great day and fabulous halloween weekend ahead.
Thank you from the heart.

Transition

With Fall just lurking around, I am starting to incorporate them again slowly as the weather starts to get cooler. This knit sweater and some leopard booties are my bets at this point. Both are essential and stand by pieces in my wardrobe as our weather slowly transition to Fall. The animal print has become a classic print in any season as it has proven it's versatility. So when the temp starts to drop these booties will keep my footsies warm and this knit top will make layering as easy and less bulky. Pairing red bag + leopard is a no brainer. It always compliments each other in my book and while I leave the rest of my outfit as neutral. As it happens to me most of the times and I am sure to some of you as well, I put together this whole ensemble starting with my shoes and everything seems to just work together.
As as y'all might have noticed, I been wearing this aviators like it is the only sunnies I owned, lol..
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend filled with love and laughter !
Thank you from the heart.

Not feeling it

Gray is my least favorite color. Definitely not my favorite at all. But since I am trying to build a more well versatile wardrobe options, I am slowly adding colors that I am not particularly drawn to most of the time. I don't know why but I gravitate less towards this color. I always pick over other colors in most cases. And if I have to pick, it is more the darker shade of gray most definitely. But sometimes we just try things that we never like and maybe later on we'll get hook. Next time I am thinking of pairing this skirt with yellow, what you think? Gray + yellow?
Here's to a wonderful week ahead for all of us !
Thank you from the heart.

Maxi Blend

C'mon babe, hurry up. I am hungry ! I don't want to take pictures up town. The sunset in our backyard is beautiful, let's do it here. These are words from one hungry man, my husband. How can I say no when I know that he's right. The sunset is truly beautiful. So after a few clicks here and there,  we were finally done ! The man is patient and I am lucky to be married to one who let's me do what I do. We pick our own battles and we compromise.
I so totally blended again with my background but what can I say, sometime you win some and sometime you lose some.
Off we go and have a nice dinner. Date night, Friday and just us.
Wishing you a wonderful day with lots of smile and sunshine.
Thank you from the heart.
