Obsession

My current obsession for these Fall/Winter season are these turtleneck/mock neck style sweaters. I can't get enough of it. Like I have told you previously that I have a rekindled love for them, it's true and becoming an obsession. And even though it has been written on some fashion tips that petite should  wear a V-neckline instead to elongate your frame and give an illusion of a longer silhoutte, I brush off the rule and look who's wearing high necklines now :). The thing I like about it's sleeveless style is my arms feel less bulky and tight when I put on a much thicker coat. And since our weather has been acting all bipolar on us, layering and losing the layers during the day is an option for me lately. There is no turning back, weather will definitely get cold and harsh all day long & these sweater top will come real handy.  What'cha think?
Are you a fan of turtlenecks/mocknecks style too?

Have a great Monday everyone.
Thank you from the heart.
xoxo

The brits

My, my, my.... The last time I checked we are not british. The last time I checked we most certainly not pirates and therefore I don't speak pirate. But my son start talking to me his own version of british accent. He's funny and it doesn't surprise me a bit but I still can't keep a straight face. I have to go to the other room and laugh so he doesn't see me. He even practice reciting his poem at home with a british accent. He's serious about it and I don't want to hurt his feelings. I just let him. It is so amazing how we see ourselves in our children. I see myself in my son in many ways. Like him being funny, intuitive, full of life, too opinionated and talkative. He's extremely closed to both me and his dad but there are things that he's a lot more comfortable doing just in front of me. I asked him why? He says, because dad is always serious(true). I am most silly with my son than my husband but I can be tough and means business when there is a need for it.
Then the other day, I chaperone my son's class field trip. A classmate of his came up to me and asks, Dylan's mom are you british? Ha, ha ha, I am not. Dylan says you are :).
Also if not speaking in a british or pirate accents cracks me up every now and then, once in a while my son will call me Mama Gertrude.... Not sure but your guess is as good as mine.
Now let's talk about outfit....
As I am showing a new found likeness for shades of gray, I also rekindle my old love for olive and turtle neck sweaters. This skirt's true color is olive green and it didn't show much on my pictures(sigh).
Thank you from the heart.

Cape town

Hi everyone. I can't believe we are in November already. Days come by and go so fast and it feels like I can't keep up. I adore cape. I don't like any drama in my life but a drama and an extra oomph a cape can give to any ensemble is way better and acceptable for me. Don't you think?
Then there she is, the drama that I was looking for.
To cape or not to cape?
Thank you from the heart.

Finally it's Fall

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. It was Fall like weather yesterday and I did not hesitate for a minute to wear a new favorite cashmere sweater. Funny how I say "fall like weather" when indeed it is really fall but not until yesterday that he did get to experience chillier temperature comparable to high 80's in the last few weeks. I been into turtle necks style sweater lately and when I saw this at the store, I just fell in love. I got them in regular instead of my normal petite size because I want it to hang looser and a tad longer. For style and for hiding my food belly when I eat too much :). On a much taller person, the sweater could have been just below your hip bone. The length, higher slit on both sides as well as the front pockets are great fresh takes and modernize an old classic style. As I recall telling you guys that I do not like gray color that much, well I have a change of heart. I am into grays shopping and hunting lately.
I hope you have a great day and fabulous halloween weekend ahead.
Thank you from the heart.

Below the knee

Hi everyone. Cheers to another beautiful Tuesday. Is there any item of clothing that you are most intimidated of? Do you always go by the fashion rules and follow strictly? It is tricky and compromising when you are petite. Thou shall not wear skirts or dresses that hemlines were below your knee, you will look a lot shorter
For the longest time, I been wanting to try the midi trend. There are so many options out there but somehow I am cautious and overshadowed by the rules. For awhile I convince myself that this trend will shall pass and I don't have to see it ever again. However, I am a curious person. I want to try things before I say no. So I pull the trigger and hit the confirm purchase and I am here now my very first midi dress. And if you remember, I have tried the midi skirt as well via this post/post. Curiosity and fear no more. I once again push myself a bit my comfort zone. I tried and even more braver to take photos and share with you all. I've had these dress for a while and these photos were from few months ago but I felt not comfortable to post it on my blog. I've got nothing to lose, i felt more comfortable and for heaven sakes, I bought the dress so I did took a plunge. Being a petite gal, it is tricky. Like trial & error. Win or lose, here you go... I just broke the rules that were made to be broken. Me, in a midi dress.
Oh, and I want your brutally honest opinion too. :)
Thank you from the heart.

Sun glow

Happy Thursday everyone. I been slacking with my blogging duties lately. Life is generally busy these days and will get busier as the holidays were just around the corner. It seems like whole day is not enough to do all the stuff that I needed to do or maybe just as my husband would say, " try getting up earlier,  lol".  Or I am getting too lazy to blog these days, not motivated and all I wanted to do is snuggle, stay warm & cozy with a cup of fresh pumpkin spice latte. October is almost to the end and how unbelievable it is that this year would be almost over pretty soon. Where did the year went by? What have I done for all these past months? Was I even productive? The last question, I really don't dare to answer :). Well that's it for now folks as I will try to be more productive today. I am glad that I updated the blog & was able to say hi to everyone. So if you'll excuse me, I have a gluten free banana bread baking right now in the oven and I have no reason not to work out today and get it over with.
Thank you from the heart....
xoxo
