Touches of gold

The thing about wearing OTK boots for me is to keep everything in your outfit simple. The boots itself is already a statement, therefore the rest of the outfit should just play a secondary role. I want a look that is less busy, more cohesive and not complicated. It may have been a monotone outfit but the texture play a big difference. I say it over and over in almost all my post but I think it makes dressing up so much fun and make us somehow a pro in mixing textures and prints. I am a fan of an all black ensemble but I like to add some spice to it. Case in point, some gold touches. Easy peesy, if you ask me. Out the door in no time. I like color, I like print and textures but we always go back with the basic of staying in one solid color. I called it cleaning the palette and start with something new tomorrow.
I hope you like it.
Thank you from the heart.

Coatigan

Lighter than a coat but thicker than a cardigan. Talking about "coatigan", the hybrid child of a coat & a cardigan. This lovely piece has been hanging on my closet since last year and waiting to get some attention. The reason being might be because I even underestimate it's power to keep me warm. But a  lunch outing with my husband was a perfect day to wear it for the first time. Boy, I was wrong.  It is comfortable, non itching & definitely keeps warm on a not so harsh winter day. If not too obvious, I been playing with the contrast of prints and textures and it is undeniable.
I had fun dressing up, can you tell? And I had fun shopping in my closet too....
Wishing you a wonderful day with lots of love and smile :)
Thank you from the heart.

Happy thoughts

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? I had a great one. Well rested, relaxed and ready for what this new week ahead. Finally finished with our Christmas decorations and hopefully start shopping for gifts here and there.  Each year I face this challenge of what to get everyone.  I have this obsession of getting the perfect gift because as I child and until now I still never like all the gifts that I get. Well are we all like that anyway? I remember as a child, I always wanted to get this digital Casio watch and a small toy refrigerator but never gets it. I got a toy Mickey Mouse watch and a plastic tea cup set. So not cool.....Fast forward, these days I just ask for a gift card to my favorite stores. If only I know about gift cards back then, I am pretty sure I will ask for those instead :). Now that I am much much older, the holidays are not as much exciting as it is back then. We don't have enough but we make do for what we've got. As a small child, nothing compares to my anticipation and excitement for the big day to come. I remember having to make our own ornaments to decorate our Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The only decor we have in the house. Now, it doesn't surprise my husband where these obsession comes from. Each year, I accumulate more and more. My stocking is not too fancy either. It is just from my sock drawer. Our house is full of people from uncles, grandparents and cousins.

Even though I feel less exciting these days because I am much much older, I still love Christmas shared with my own family now.
As a matter of fact, it's my favorite holiday ! It's just a different kind of happiness back then.
Christmas is truly for the children.
I wish I can still see Christmas in the eyes of a child.
Where Santa is real and the excitement over it is far more better than what money can buy.
Do you have a special memory about Christmas? Please share.
Thank you from the heart.

Open field

Hello everyone. For those that celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a blast ! We had a wonderful thanksgiving with the company of the people we love. My mother in law's house was full of people but we managed to find space for everyone. A few days of time off is really nice but getting back to a normal routine is quite a challenged for me this morning. It may take until tomorrow to snap out of it. There are things that needs to get done so this is a quick say Hi to everyone and wish you a fantastic week. But first things first is hello December ! You sure came so fast. How can it be possible that we are a month away to welcome a new year. But one thing is for sure that this ankle boots are really made for walking. I been wearing it non stop and it is comfortable than I thought !
Thank you from the heart.

OTK

When this OTK(over the knee)boots trend first came out, I really wanted to try it but on the other hand I am quite intimidated. I procrastinate but I always keep it my mind. You know I am petite & that is something that I always take into consideration when dressing for my body type. An OTK boot I think is a trend that is unforgiving. Plus, the high heeled types has this stigma of a hooker/street walker look and a trend by choice. It's you like it or you don't. Luckily this trend has been coming back every Fall/Winter for the last few years and I gave it another try. My first one(see previous post here) was a low heel and have enjoyed it so much. Tall, sleek & great for lots and lots of walking. Since it is so trendy, I thought it was enough. I got the sleek look that I was looking for and do not want to fork too much on such a trendy piece until this one...... A high heeled, pointy, great details and affordable. All of a sudden I have the change of heart. While at the checkout counters browsing on a fashion mag, I saw this wallet friendly alternative. I gave in, order it anyway and now I can even be more happier.
Since the boots is an statement by itself, I keep the rest of the outfit pretty simple. I just let the boots do the talking. A subtle hint of color on a monochrome ensemble via this pastel vest adds another texture and another dimension to my whole look.
I think it is a perfect get up for a date night with my favorite man.
What are your thoughts? Brutal or not, they are all acceptable by me :).
Happy Monday everyone.
Thank you from the heart.
