Insta Life

Last weekend was pretty busy for me, for us.  We are out the door at 8:00 a.m. I am not a morning person so getting up in the morning is always not fun for me. But my little guy is playing ball. Of course, I will never trade more zzzzzzz with the memories we created. Then after all the motherly duties are fulfilled, I am off to a fun day of fashion, champagne and shopping via the Kay Unger New York experience. Besides, I am a mother first before I become a small time fashion blogger.
It was a super cold and windy day but this kids seem not to mind. I underestimate the weather and did not bundle enough. I was freezing if you may ask.

Life can be busy, schedules can be hectic but at the end of the day i'd like to slow it down and breath and enjoy the company who matters the most.

Happy weekend everyone......... Stay stylish !

The Kay Unger Experience

Remember I mention that I was invited over to see for myself the Kay Unger New York and Phoebe couture Spring 2013 collection at Neiman's? It was a fun experience especially meeting their evening wear head designer Christy Carlisle Smith.
Christy is so sweet and nice, a true southern girl at heart being from Alabama and now living in New York and work for Kay Unger design house for 9 years. She took time before the presentation to give me a tour about the latest collection and explain all the process in designing and hard work that involves  creating the lovely pieces shown.
This is one of the dress that caught my eye. My picture does not even do justice of how the dress was nicely made and the fabric, silhoutte and prints are gorgeous in person. It has a vintage vibe but with a modern twist.
Her dresses are totally wearable and can easily be incorporated in anyone's wardrobe. The great thing is  learning their attention to details and fit. Being petite that is very important. Kudos to Christy for thinking about us petites being petite herself. They take into account that not all women have the same body type. They design different silhouettes that are flattering on all figure. A special attention to enhance the most flattering part of one's body. Hence this dresses are slimming and definitely figure flattering. The pleats are placed to enhance a waist and hide the bulges. If you are a fan of polka dots you will like this piece. I like how the dots starts small and gets bigger at the bottom.
See the lace details? Sexy but still appropriate for work and the color is tomato red, just gorgeous in person.

This is one of my favorite from the line. As Christy have mention that they work hard with their textile development. Spending a lot of time to create beautiful and one of kind techniques and prints.

Longer version of the dress. I love the ombre effect. The print is original to kay Unger and you will not see it anywhere else.
The Phoebe Couture offers a more youthful vibe with an edgier twist. Spring 2013 selections are vibrant and colorful.
Look at the detailing on this shift dress, it is pretty in person.

A special thanks to Christina Solermo, PR manager of the brand for the invite and Christly Carlisle Smith for the warm welcome that day. This ladies are truly nice..........
Lastly the attendees were treated to champagne and small bites all throughout the presentation and some sweet treats as a nice touch to end the day of fun at Neiman's and the Kay Unger experienced !

Thank you so much for reading.........

Neutral Monday

Happy Monday everyone. What a gorgeous day to start our week. Outside our house I can see trees with buds starting to bloom. Although our weather are still unpredictable for the most part, the spring is almost here. I am playing with neutrals today with a punch of leopard. Wearing this lightweight open knit top that I never had the chance to wear last year. I have other visions to wear this top but for now I am liking it. Also I have to give it to my husband for being loving and being patient with me especially on days that no matter how starving he can be, but will still stop to take some photos simply because I asked. And my note to myself,  to stop being spoiled rotten because I know I can around him.........
Thank you so much for reading and for your time.
May you have a great week ahead of you !

Queen Bee

Hello, hello........... Taking an inspiration from last nights show that my son loves to watch, The Animal Planet. Last nights episode were all about the bees. Injecting sunny yellow, a classic black and dotted pants to otherwise a super windy, cold and almost boring day. Thus recreating an inner queen bee in me.  Now if only I have wings.

On another note, this coming up Saturday(March 9) will be an all day affair for me. My son's first baseball game for the season and an invite to Atlanta's Neiman Marcus to meet and greet Kay Unger New York and Phoebe Couture designer Christy Carlisle Smith. She will be presenting her 2013 Spring collection. I would not miss both events and I know that I will have fun.

Thank you all for reading and have a great hump day everyone.

Insta-Trip

My trip to Hong kong was really crazy short and quick. When I say quick it is really quick. I left Wednesday and was back home Friday. Super exhausting for sure !  I just went to actually bring my mom back to stay with us for a little while. I don't want to stay for a few more days since my husband and my son were not with me anyway. Traveling without them would mean not much fun for me.

I was never lost in translation

Great thing is that from the terminals, there is access to the hotels that are around the airport.

Intrigue by her.

I needed some from here to calm down the energizer bunny in me.

The best stir fry Udon noodles I tasted.

Too many cups of you

I always leave out the pickled ginger with my sushi. This time I tried it and i kinda like it !

Valentino @ the HK airport.
When is enough time, enough? Almost did not make it to my flight back home because of you. I lost track of time. There are just so many fabulous stores !

Looking terribly haggard due to lack of sleep. I did not sleep on my way to and back. Sleeping pill did not help at all. Ok, maybe because I watched too much movies during the flight. I just can't sleep !

I just got through talking with my husband and son. When I am tired my brain just shuts off.  Nothing sinks in anymore. I asked my son why are you not in school? He said mommy it's night time here! Oh, not knowing the date, day and time sometimes can be so liberating. All I want at this moment was to get on the plane and go home.

Although it was such a short trip, I am super happy to be headed home. I miss my husband and son so much !

Thank you so much for reading. Happy Monday everyone.......
