Happy New Year

It is not too long before we welcome a new year, 2015 and I am more than looking forward to a better, bigger and fabulous year ahead. I know that I been MIA here in the blog not by choice but because my body sometimes just give up and I need to take some rest here and there and of course the holidays ! The whole family had colds and flu over the holidays and we are now just recovering and thankful. Hopefully my eye infection will also get better and better so I can take decent pictures without my swollen eyes.
May the new year brings all of us with endless laughter, joy, great health and love.
Thank YOU from the heart.

Touches of gold

The thing about wearing OTK boots for me is to keep everything in your outfit simple. The boots itself is already a statement, therefore the rest of the outfit should just play a secondary role. I want a look that is less busy, more cohesive and not complicated. It may have been a monotone outfit but the texture play a big difference. I say it over and over in almost all my post but I think it makes dressing up so much fun and make us somehow a pro in mixing textures and prints. I am a fan of an all black ensemble but I like to add some spice to it. Case in point, some gold touches. Easy peesy, if you ask me. Out the door in no time. I like color, I like print and textures but we always go back with the basic of staying in one solid color. I called it cleaning the palette and start with something new tomorrow.
I hope you like it.
Thank you from the heart.

Coatigan

Lighter than a coat but thicker than a cardigan. Talking about "coatigan", the hybrid child of a coat & a cardigan. This lovely piece has been hanging on my closet since last year and waiting to get some attention. The reason being might be because I even underestimate it's power to keep me warm. But a  lunch outing with my husband was a perfect day to wear it for the first time. Boy, I was wrong.  It is comfortable, non itching & definitely keeps warm on a not so harsh winter day. If not too obvious, I been playing with the contrast of prints and textures and it is undeniable.
I had fun dressing up, can you tell? And I had fun shopping in my closet too....
Wishing you a wonderful day with lots of love and smile :)
Thank you from the heart.

Bug eye

How is it that we only have 13 days more before Christmas and I have not start shopping yet. I was telling my husband yesterday that we start to sit down and see what we want to give to people. We don't have a list and it is gonna be a disaster if we go on without one. But he told me that not making a list and just finding stuff to give makes the holiday gift giving even more fun. Well, the man has a point.  Hopefully this weekend we can start with something. I hate to cut this short but I need to get going to go to my son's school luncheon. He likes it when mommy drops by at school and eat lunch with him. I also love that my oversized sunnies can hide my eye bags the size of Mount Rushmore and still looking fabulous.
But I wish you all a fabulous weekend with lots of smile :) and hugs.
Thank you from the heart.

Happy thoughts

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? I had a great one. Well rested, relaxed and ready for what this new week ahead. Finally finished with our Christmas decorations and hopefully start shopping for gifts here and there.  Each year I face this challenge of what to get everyone.  I have this obsession of getting the perfect gift because as I child and until now I still never like all the gifts that I get. Well are we all like that anyway? I remember as a child, I always wanted to get this digital Casio watch and a small toy refrigerator but never gets it. I got a toy Mickey Mouse watch and a plastic tea cup set. So not cool.....Fast forward, these days I just ask for a gift card to my favorite stores. If only I know about gift cards back then, I am pretty sure I will ask for those instead :). Now that I am much much older, the holidays are not as much exciting as it is back then. We don't have enough but we make do for what we've got. As a small child, nothing compares to my anticipation and excitement for the big day to come. I remember having to make our own ornaments to decorate our Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The only decor we have in the house. Now, it doesn't surprise my husband where these obsession comes from. Each year, I accumulate more and more. My stocking is not too fancy either. It is just from my sock drawer. Our house is full of people from uncles, grandparents and cousins.

Even though I feel less exciting these days because I am much much older, I still love Christmas shared with my own family now.
As a matter of fact, it's my favorite holiday ! It's just a different kind of happiness back then.
Christmas is truly for the children.
I wish I can still see Christmas in the eyes of a child.
Where Santa is real and the excitement over it is far more better than what money can buy.
Do you have a special memory about Christmas? Please share.
Thank you from the heart.

Into the gray side

Hi everyone. I been craving and lusting anything gray as soon as the colder months hits us. Gray is a strong trend this Fall/Winter 2014 and I am so happy about it. The color is versatile, neutral and as classic as black. And on every trend, there are always tons of options for everyone's budget. Making all trends so affordable for everyone. I can say I am a smart shopper because I always never pays full price for any item of clothing or shoes. I always wait when they the item that I am eyeing goes on sale or when there is some special promotion going on. Or ask if they can price match. It doesn't hurt to ask and especially during the holidays, retailers are very forgiving and wants that sale and will be more likely be accommodating. Since the biggest shopping season has officially started, more awesome sales and promotions is definitely on it's way. Lots of savings, special deals, longer hours, free shipping, and many more perks that retailers are offering these days are all we consider. Let's face it, any saving means more shopping, right ladies?
Into the gray sideNot only gray are a big trend that everyone including me are lusting about but also the big comeback of the 90's favorite, turtle necks. I am not a big fan of them back the days but now, I just adore them. A few weeks ago, I found these mock neck tunic sweater for a great price at my local Ann Taylor store at The Avenue Peachtree city location. It was markdown from $129 to $99 with an additional 60% off. What an amazing deal with something that on trend & good quality. If you want to see how I styled my tunic sweater, see my post here
Keep calm, enjoy a good coffee and have fun shopping.
Happy Thanksgiving.....
Thank you from the heart.
